This gin is a throwback to the 18th century origins of Holland's famous drink and is notably different to the other products on the market. Using a traditional grain mash of wheat, barley and rye, the liquor is then distilled in an old-fashioned copper pot still. The botanicals are the same as modern gin - juniper being most important - but the result is unique. Many early cocktail recipes were made using this style of gin, known as Genevar, which has a strong flavor profile, created by the unique grain mash. Anchor's distillery is in the heart of San Francisco and is famous for its legendary Anchor Steam beer.
