FEUDI DI PISCIOTTO 2008 "VALENTINO" MERLOT
Undeniable is the best word to describe this wine. It shows great depth of color and richness of fruit that will make many a Cab drinker turn their head. Sicily’s sunshine can produce big wines easily, but all too often there is an element of pruniness or cooked fruit. Not here. Alessandro Cellai’s skill shows through in the freshness and brightness of the fruit that is surprising and truly rare in a wine this big. There are multiple “Tre Bicchieri” wines already in the Pisciotto lineup, but this Merlot was our favorite and took us by surprise. Be bold. Try this Merlot.
