We featured the baby brother of this wine earlier in the year and it was met with overwhelming and well deserved praise. When we discovered there was a reserve bottling at this unbelievable price, we jumped. We’ve said it many times before but it’s worth repeating that our friend, importer Oliver McCrum, has a real gift for finding serious value-priced wines that over-deliver and outshine the vast majority in their given tier. This is definitely one of those wines. “Prunar” offers a combination of palate texture and vivacious acidity with subtle flavors of apple, pear and minerals. Ideal with vegetables (especially asparagus), fish and lighter fare.
