EPOCH 10 ESTATE RED
Made by the talented winemaker Jordan Fiorentini, and consulting winemaker Justin Smith (of Saxum fame). Justin was also intrumental in the development of these vineyards, which are planted on the Westside of Paso Robles!Located on the Westside of Paso Robles, the Paderewski Vineyard is a patchwork of different vineyard blocks matched to their specific soil and climate types. The 2009 Estate Blend captures that patchwork in a bottle. Predominantly Syrah, but combined with almost every other red variety from the estate, this wine gives a sweeping glimpse of the vineyard and Jordan's winemaking practices. As a true field blend (56% Syrah, 26% Grenache, 11% Mourvedre, and 7% Tempranillo), the 2009 Estate Blend combines 15 different harvest picks.
ROBERT PARKER'S WINE ADVOCATE 90 POINTS - "Epoch’s 2010 Estate Blend possesses gorgeous inner tension and energy. Dark fruit, licorice and spices flow through to the imposing finish. The Estate Blend is one of the entry-level wines at Epoch, but it has all of the qualitites of the higher-end bottlings, and costs less. This is a great introduction to the Epoch house style. The blend is 56% Syrah, 26% Grenache, 11% Mourvedre and 7% Tempranillo. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2016."
