EPOCH 2011 PROPRIETARY RED ESTATE PASO ROBLES 750mL

Made by the talented winemaker Jordan Fiorentini, and consulting winemaker Justin Smith (of Saxum fame). Justin was also intrumental in the development of these vineyards, which are planted on the Westside of Paso Robles!

Located on the Westside of Paso Robles, the Paderewski Vineyard is a patchwork of different vineyard blocks matched to their specific soil and climate types. The 2011 Estate Blend captures that patchwork in a bottle. Predominantly Syrah, but combined with almost every other red variety from the estate, this wine gives a sweeping glimpse of the vineyard and Jordan's winemaking practices. As a true field blend (37% Syrah, 28% Grenache, 19% Mourvédre, 10% Tempranillo, and 6% Counoise), the 2011 Estate Blend combines 15 different harvest picks.

ROBERT PARKER'S WINE ADVOCATE 91 POINTS - "An estate that continues to go from strength to strength, Epoch is owned by Bill and Liz Armstrong, with the wines made by Jordan Fiorentini. All of their wines come from their estate Paderewski Vineyard, and both their 2010s and 2011s are incredibly strong, with the edge going to the 2010s at the moment. You can’t go wrong here, though, and these are serious, top-flight wines.

"Looking at the 2011s from bottle, and always a rock-solid bottle of wine and a great entry into the style here, the 2011 Estate Blend offers up plenty of ripe plum, licorice, crushed flowers and violet-like nuances as well as a medium to full-bodied, balanced profile in the mouth. Showing the cooler vintage with its overall freshness and focus, it’s beautifully done and should drink nicely for 3-5 years, Drink now-2018."
