ELVIO COGNO 11 ANASCETTA
WINE ADVOCATE 90 POINTS-The 2011 Anas-Cetta is striking in this vintage. Juicy yellow peaches, flowers, crushed rocks and mint meld together in this totally gracious white. Gorgeous, pure and vibrant, the 2011 impresses for its overall balance and sense of harmony. I will not be surprised if it is even better in another year or two. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2015Nascetta is actually a noble white grape variety that can produce long-lived, structured wines. Very distinctive and aromatic and unique to the commune of Novello. Valter Fissore of Elvio Cogno (Novello) single-handedly delivered the Nascetta grape from oblivion after he tasted a wine made using this once highly praised grape in 1991.The Nas-Cetta is fermented in stainless steel (70%) and barrique (30%), before ageing in steel then oak for six months each, prior to six months in bottle and then release.
