Monpertuis definitely ranks among our favorite Rhone estates and based upon sales of their wines, there are more than a few whom share our opinion. Their latest Cotes du Rhone is a tremendous value that is sure to excite existing fans and make a lot of new ones as well.Made almost exclusively from Grenache, this seductive elixir showcases a juicy mélange of wild red fruits laced with delicious hints of pepper, spice and smoked meats. Neither heavy nor tannic, it’s perfumed and smooth with just the right balance of fruit, soft tannins and bright acidity. This is certainly a classy affair at the price point and a reminder of the tremendous values still available from the South of France.
Here’s a wine that’s suited for year-round consumption and is perfect for a wide variety of Spring and Summer fare for sure. A real steal at this price and a bargain hunter’s delight.
