CONTINUUM 2012 PROPRIETARY RED NAPA VALLEY 750mL

Continuum celebrates the ongoing legacy of the Mondavi familyís proud history in Napa Valley. It represents a new beginning, and reaffirms their longstanding commitment to winemaking excellence. At the helm is Tim Mondavi who led the winemaking team at Robert Mondavi Winery for 30 years. He is joined in guiding the vision and direction by his sister Marcia, his son Dante, his late fatherís wife Margrit, and Carissa Mondavi. Carissa and Dante are the third generation to join the winery. Continuum's vineyard resides on atop Pritchard Hill in Napa Valley. This mountainous region is rocky, volcanic soils with a high iron content. This brings concentration and complexity to the wine, something that is prominent to Continuum's neighbors, such as Ovid, Chappellet, Bryant, David Arthur, and Stagecoach Vineyard.

ANTONIO GALLONI 96 POINTS - "Continuum is very much a family affair. Tim Mondavi and his sister Marcia own the property, while four of Tim Mondavi's five children are now actively involved in the winery. The Mondavis exude an extraordinary passion for their estate on Pritchard Hill, a bucolic spot that offers breathtaking views of much of Napa Valley, including To-Kalon, where the Mondavis made their name, to Stagecoach. With each passing vintage, the wines keep getting better now that Continuum is a 100% estate winery and the team gains the kind of understanding about vineyards that only time can bring. In addition to these wines, I also tasted a number of 2013 components that point to another successful vintage here."

"Ripe, silky tannins wrap around the palate in the 2012 Continuum. Bright red cherry, plum, spice, menthol and hard candy meld together effortlessly in the glass. The 2012 captures the polished, refined side of the vintage. This is perhaps the most refined wine I have ever tasted from Continuum. The flavors are bright and focused, while the new oak has been decidedly toned down, both of which allow the personality of these breathtaking hillsides sites to shine. The 2012 is the first Continuum to be made entirely with estate grown fruit. Drinking window: 2017 - 2032."
