CAYMUS 2010 CABERNET SAUVIGNON
"SPECIAL SELECTION" NAPA VALLEY 750mL
The Special Selection really is something special. It has received more accolades than almost any other wine produced in Napa Valley. One of the things that makes this wine so great is its diversity. Only the best grapes are used for this bottling, and grapes are sourced from both hillside and valley floor vineyards from Napa subregions Atlas Peak, Rutherford, St. Helena, Oakville and Calistoga. The best barrels are used for this wine, along with attention to detail in the cellar…. you get the picture. This wine is opaque purple in color, almost black, and the nose is full of licorice, black cherry, currants, lavender and roasted coffee. The palate is rich, yet vibrant and structured, showing vanilla, framboise, kirsch, plum, cocoa and root beer. It is a knockout wine that is fleshy, textured and we think just a bit better than the 2009 that sold out long ago!
