CARTE BLANCHE 2010 CABERNET SAUVIGNON NAPA VALLEY 750mL

Proprietor Nicholas Allen now has one of the best up-and-coming Cabernet Sauvignons in the Napa Valley. He knows that it is a privilege to succeed at what you truly want to do, and he doesn't take it for granted. Helping him make the best wines possible is winemaker Luc Morlet. Luc created Newton Vineyard’s Chardonnay Unfiltered, a collector favorite that’s received 96 points from Robert Parker, Jr. He then became the head winemaker for Peter Michael Winery and crafted their wines from the 2001-2005 vintages, where he made a 98-point Cabernet-blend and a 99-point Chardonnay!

The 2010 Carte Blanche Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon reflects vineyard selections from both Oakville’s valley floor and Calistoga’s rocky hillside. The Cabernet Sauvignon comes from Beckstoffer’s Missouri Hopper Vineyard, and 10% Petit Verdot was blended in from McBride Vineyard. The fermentation and extended contact with the skins lasted 30 days before the wine was transferred into French oak barrels. Only 400 cases produced!

ROBERT PARKER'S THE WINE ADVOCATE 94 POINTS - "Another powerful, young wine, the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon is incredibly dense and virtually impenetrable. Blue and black fruit, grilled herbs, licorice, new leather, menthol and tobacco flow through to an incisive finish layered with graphite and crushed rocks. Today, the 2010 is cool and implosive, suggesting it needs at least another few years to come together. The addition of 10% Petit Verdot seems to give the wine some of its brooding personality. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2028."
