CAPIAUX 11 PN WIDDOES

Sean Capiaux launched his eponymous label in 1994 and he presently works as winemaker for O’Shaughnessy in the Howell Mountain appellation of Napa Valley. He has established a notable career that includes such prominent wineries as Jordan, Pine Ridge and Peter Michael. He specializes in small lots of vineyard designated Pinot Noir that express the unique locations from whence they came.

The Dutton Ranch’s™ Widdoes vineyard is located between the towns of Graton and Occidental in the Russian River Valley appellation. The cool temperate growing conditions allow the grapes from this 18 year-old, vertical trained, dry farmed vineyard (meaning the vines see no water outside of rain) to ripen slowly and evenly. At this vineyard the Beringer clone Pinot Noir is planted which consistently produces a wine of finesse and balance.

The Widdoes Pinot Noir has a bright medium dark red color. Aromas of blueberries, raspberries, violets, forest floor, and the signature cherry cola lead you into the clean and crisp palate with a minerality that is layered by lavender and clove flavors.
