Currently there are two, small production, estate Cabernet Sauvignons which come from the Aida Vineyard (situated between St. Helena and Calistoga) and Vineyard 29 (St. Helena) and a 3,000 or so case bottling called Cru which offers an excellent quality to price ratio for Napa Valley Cabernet.
ROBERT PARKER 93+ POINTS - "The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Vineyard 29 Estate (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) has to take a backseat to the virtually perfect 2007, but it is another strong effort. Although slightly more austere than the exuberant 2007, it is loaded with fruit. An opaque ruby/purple hue is accompanied by notes of cassis, new saddle leather, camphor and loamy soil. The wine displays sweet tannin, medium to full-bodied flavors, outstanding richness and mild tannins in the finish. It requires 2-3 years of bottle age and should keep for 20-25 years."

wild berries, mountain sage and dried mint give way to unveil ripe figs and juicy plum notes. A complex palate begins with rich toasty notes of roasted coffee beans and mocha before giving way to flavors of cassis, ripe raspberries, bing cherry and bright red fruit. a shared interest in great wines at affordable prices. Dedicated winemaking, strong relationships with top growers and long-term grape contracts are the keys to Waterstone’s quality and success. Well-established hillside vineyards are the foundation of this wine, giving the finished blend its intense inner core of fruit.
With its Bordeaux-like presence, this wine is deep, rich, and lingering. Firm, integrated tannins frame the concentrated, dark fruit (currant, black cherry, wild berry, plum.) Toasty oak and an earthy edge add to the wine’s great complexity.

and classic Cabernet profile. The grapes for this wine were hand-picked from the finest vineyard blocks on their estate before being destemmed, crushed and cold soaked for three to five days to enhance the extraction of color and flavor. The must remained in contact with the skins for approximately 20 days before fermentation in upright, closed top fermenters at a maximum temperature of 85°F. This wine underwent malolactic fermentation in barrel and was aged in predominantly new French oak barrels for 19 months.
This Cabernet Sauvignon is big and juicy with aromas of fresh strawberry and blueberry, followed by red cherry flavors with notes of brown spice and sweet vanilla. The soft, plush mouthfeel, intense fruit and silky tannins evolve into an impressive fruit-focused finish.

geniuses that brought you Kobalt (Kevin Carriker and Mark Herold). These are two guys who, in our opinions, have never brought us bad wines; to the contrary, whenever they bring us something new, it's always fantastic! Window Pane is not Kobalt's second label, but a different label, as it contains varietals not found in Kobalt (such as Petite Sirah from one of Mark Herold's other projects). It is crafted in a more accessible style to be enjoyed while your Kobalt Cabernet ages for the next few years. This is a great representation of the outstanding 2010 vintage!
ROBERT PARKER'S WINE ADVOCATE 93 POINTS! - "The Cabernet Sauvignon-based 2010 Window Pane wraps around the palate with layers of dark plums, olives, cassis, leather and scorched earth. With time in the glass, the wine fleshes out nicely. This is an absolutely gorgeous bottle of wine from Kobalt. The 2010 is an unusual blend of 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Petite Sirah and 7% Carignane/Graciano, but it all works beautifully. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2018."

While it is a new winery, Young Inglewood is poised to join these estates as being among the best! The vineyard is planted to a mix of Bordeaux varieties, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot. The soil is composed of a gravelly loam, accented with fist-sized river rocks for great drainage, resulting in wines of greater concentration. The wine is made by the team of Ashley Heisey (Far Niente, Dolce, Opus One, Robert Mondavi, Schramsberg Vineyards) and Jennifer Williams (Spottswoode, Arrow & Branch, Zeitgeist).
Youthful in appearance, the finished wine shows a beautiful nose of blue and red fruits, warm spices and an indulgent cocoa powder character offered by the small percentage of Cabernet Franc included. The palate presents layers of the red, blue and black fruits, tea leaves and minerals. Warm spice and a round mouthfeel come from the new oak barrels selected by Young Inglewood to showcase the fruit's character and mid-palate. The balance of tannin, acidity and good length indicate structure in the wine and the scaffolding for aging. Enjoy now or lay down for 8-12 years. Only 392 cases produced!

several small Napa Valley vineyards, each with its own unique “terroir”. Each lot was harvested separately and fermented in small stainless steel open top fermentors. Hand punchdowns every eight hours ensure an efficient, gentle extraction of color and tannin. a small amount of wine in and around Napa Valley. It was wholly conceived and is operated by Mark Porembski (formerly with Behrens and Hitchcock, now at Anomaly) and Jennifer Williams (winemaker at Spottswoode). The 2006 is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, and is a blend from two vineyard sources: the Farella Vineyard in Coombsville and the Anomaly Vineyard in St. Helena. Coombsville is known for its relatively cool and long growing season, bringing structure and foundation to the wine. St. Helena is a warmer site that is known for it's elegantly crafted, fruit driven wines. Only the best barrels make it into the final blend, limiting the production to eight barrels for a total of 190 cases. The wine exhibits a diverse group of scents; brown sugar and baklava are intermixed with notes of sweet fruits, notably raspberry and plum. A tinge of bergamot lends life to the nose. The wine is suave as it enters your mouth and displays a lushness that is a hallmark of Napa Valley Cabernet. The 2006 is cut from the same cloth as its slighter older brother (the 2005), but is more mineral in its nature and precise in its focus. Plush tannins culminate in a beautiful and noticeably lasting finish.
