BUSCARETO 2011 LACRIMA DI MORO D'ALBA
Something of a fascination in recent years among Italian wine cognoscenti and the sommelier set, Lacrima Nera is an indigenous variety that has been planted in the Moro d’Alba area of Italy’s Marche region for hundreds of years. It produces an intensely dark, aromatic wine reminiscent of guava, tangerine, and musk, underscored with baking spices, wild herbs, and a lingering minerality. Really unlike anything else from Italy. And Conti di Buscareto—who cultivates 16 hectares of ancient Lacrima vines on the Sant ‘Amico Crest in Moro d’Alba—makes one of the best examples.
Not to be missed.
