BOURGUEIL 09 MI PENTE LA BUTTE
WINE ADVOCATE 91-92 POINTS - "From a single parcel of old vines and vinified in barrique of mixed age, Blot’s 2009 Bourgueil Mi-Pente evokes sweet lily-like perfume and talcum along with scents of machine oil; peat and black tea; ripe blackberry and elderberry; and toasted walnut. Refined, almost velour-like in texture, this offers nutty richness and ripe black fruits along with hints of rare sirloin juices in a long, buoyant, downright refreshing finish. Blot suspects this deftly balanced wine will age well for the better part of two decades. Certainly I can imagine at least 8-10 years, although the trade record simply isn’t there other than by analogy with Bourgueil from other sites and growers."
