BELLE GLOS 11 PN MEIOMI
The Belle Glos wines are produced by the same family that makes the Caymus Cabernets. “Meiomi” translates to “coast” in the native language of the Wappo and Yuki tribes, and pays tribute to the wine’s origins. The wine focuses on fruit from premier vineyards along the coastal regions of Sonoma, Santa Barbara, and Monterey Counties. Meiomi is everything a Pinot Noir should be, and one thing that most are not...mainly a great value, which is something very hard to find in the world of Pinot Noir! Seriously, there is a lot of Pinot Noir grown in California, but if it’s not grown in the right spots...then it turns out badly. However...Belle Glos is a colossal success! We have been touting this wine since its first vintage, and it finally received the critical praise it deserves! The wine has just received 92 points from Wine Spectator.
WINE SPECTATOR 92 POINTS - “Dark and rich, showing toasty mocha oak flavors, with a beam of wild berry, raspberry, cola, vanilla and spice. Long on the finish. Drink now through 2020.”
To this, we would add that the wine has many layers emerging independently, then refocus while the supple tannins carry the wine through to a lingering, succulent finish.
