ALOIS 08 PALLAGRELLO NERO
For those unfamiliar, Pallagrello Nero is a red grape varietal that dates back to the ancient Greeks and is planted primarily in Italy’s Campania region. This intriguing wine is produced from grapes planted in volcanic soil along the slopes surrounding the town of Caserta. The resulting wine is medium-to-full-bodied with wonderful aromas and flavors of spiced blackberry fruit with secondary notes of dried tobacco and volcanic minerals. It’s simply delicious from start to finish and is especially good with lamb, grilled sausages along with heavier pastas and cheeses. It’s a real treat from Southern Italy that’s not to be missed.
