A COROA 11 GODELLO
Although A Coroa is a family-run winery, it has current, up-todate wine-making equipment. Their philosophy is simple and one that we've seen from many of our favorite winemakers: the vineyard, the grapes, are the primary key to making good wine. Production centers on thorough and thoughtful processing of the grape, using the best technology and respecting the heterogeneity of the land. Oenologist Ángel Sanchez Cuesta, educated at the Requena Viticulture and Oenology School (Valencia), has been working at his profession in Valdeorras County for more than 17 years. An absolute connoisseur of viticulture and the Valdeorras grape varietials he is one of the pioneers of monovarietal winemaking with Godello and Mencia, and probably one of those who best knows the potential of vitiviniculture in this area. And the proof is in the bottle.The nose is incredibly expressive: lanolin and sweet floral essences dance with river water, mixed melon scents and lemon grass, with just a touch of dairy cream in the background. The palate starts with sweet fruit in the fore, uplifted by brisk acidity; the mid-palate brings in a layer of richness, creaminess from months of lees stirring, along with a variety of stone fruit flavors, nectarine, white peach. The finish is elongated and tasty as this wine Over delivers for its price point. Really fantastic wine.
